Cleanup Day Held Saturday

Organizer Hopes to Make it a Regular Event

Belleville’s first “clean up” day was held this past Saturday morning, Oct. 1 around School 9 on Ralph Street. The event -- the brainchild of resident John Tonery -- drew about a dozen people, including adults and their children, who picked up litter, painted signs and cleared brush from the playground at the school and in the area.

Tonery hopes to make the clean-up day a regular event, hitting spots throughout town.
