Health Screenings, Government Meetings and Football

Noteworthy upcoming events in Belleville and Nutley.

On Monday night at 6:30, Nutley holds a Blood Pressure Screening at the Public Affairs Building. The walk-in Clinic is intended to identify elevated blood pressures. No appointment needed.

The Nutley Board of Commissioners meets on Tuesday night at 7 at the Commission Chambers in the third floor of town hall.

Nutley hosts a woman’s health clinic at the Public Affairs building on Wednesday. According to Nutley’s website, the exam includes pap smear, a breast exam, urinalysis, blood test for anemia and health education. The clinic is free to women 60 and up; for other women the fee is $20.Appointments are required. Call 973-284-4976 for an appointment.

Nutley hosts its Halloween Costume Swap event on Thursday night from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Parks & Recreation Building at 44 Park Ave. Families who dropped off costumes before Monday can in return get a gently used, clean costume.

Belleville’s Zoning Board meets on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Municipal Building’s council chambers.

Belleville High School takes on James Caldwell High at 2 p.m. in a home game. 

The Nutley High School varsity football team takes on Seton Hall Prep at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday in a home game.
