MLK Closings, Congressman Visit, Bone Marrow Drive This Week

Belleville’s Cheerleading Program Starts for children in Grades 4-8 kicks off Wednesday night at 6:30 at School #8, on 183 Union Avenue.

The Nutley Republican welcomes Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen as its speaker for their Club Dinner and Meeting 6:30 Wednesday night at the Diamond Spring Café. Tickets are $30. More information is available by calling Ruth Bedford at 973-667-0249.

Nutley’s planning board is scheduled to meet on Tuesday night at 7 at the Commission Chambers.

Nutley public schools offer a K-8 Math session for parents of K-8 students to give an overview of the mathematics program on Thursday night at at 6:30 p.m. in the John H. Walker Middle School Auditorium. 

On Saturday, Nutley officials host "Operation Anne," a Bone Marrow Donation Drive benefiting Nutley resident Anne Rotonda, a Leukemia patient in need of a bone marrow transplant. Belleville Knights of Columbus Council 835 host a chicken Dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, to benefit the Knights of Columbus Vocations Fund. Meal includes salad, baked chicken entrée, sides, soda, beer, coffee and dessert. Donation is $10 per person.
