This steakhouse is located just off of Washington Street and specializes in the cuisine of northern Portugal, the original home of owner and executive chef Carlos Lopes. Some South American favorites are also on the menu, such as rodizio, a Brazilian mixed grill for which Lopes won a Star-Ledger "Best Rodizio" award in 2008.
While Solar do Minho specializes in grilled and roasted meats, the menu also offers a generous selection of fish and seafood. Dining options range from the more formal atmosphere of the main dining room to the rather rustic bar, made to resemble a Portuguese country house. Private parties can be held in either room or under outdoor tents. Catering, take-out and free delivery are also available.
