Nutley Resident Earns PhD

Oliver-Hawley has extensive background in education

Nutley resident Christy Oliver-Hawley has successfully defended her dissertation at the College of Saint Elizabeth in Convent Station,  earning her doctorate in educational leadership. Oliver-Hawley's dissertation is entitled, "A Study of No Child Left Behind (NCLB) Supplemental Educational Services Implementation and Communication." Oliver-Hawley has served as central office administrator/director in the Irvington school district, principal in the Plainfield public schools, and as vice principal at the Dionne Warwick Institute in East Orange. Prior to being an administrator, she taught as a French immersion teacher at Ecole Toussaint L'Ouverture in the East Orange schools for six years, where she was nominated as Teacher of the Year. …
