Richardson struck twice in Nutley
An Irvington man who went on a three-year bank robbery spree was sentenced in Newark federal court Tuesday to more than 17 years in prison. Maurice Richardson, 43, struck 10 times between December 2007 and December 2010, including at the Nutley branch of Commerce Bank. Richardson robbed that bank twice, on July 27 and Sept. 28, 2008, Robinson admitted in court. Richardson, who would hand tellers notes demanding money and threatening to shoot if they failed to comply, was caught Dec. 1, 2010 after police in Marlboro saw a burgundy SUV matching a description of Richardson’s vehicle pull out from a street next to a Capital One branch.
