Nutley School District to Receive $1 More in State Aid Than in Previous Year

Nutley School Superintendent says they planned on flat funding.

In a statement accompanying the announcement of state aid numbers, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie's office said that every district would receive an increase in K-12 formula aid or maintain flat funding from the previous school year.  Nutley technically received an increase, but really only technically, as it was an increase of a single dollar. A school official indicated that the district would operate as if they received a flat maintainence of funding. "We build our budget assuming flat funding, so this information has been planned for," Nutley Schools Superintendent Russell Lazovick said. Belleville Schools State Aid Increases by $500K

Two and a half percent increase for Belleville School district.

The Belleville School District will receive an additional $500,000 in state aid for 2013-14, bringing next year's total state aid to the district up to $25,630,065, state officials announced today. The increase follows a year where the District's aid increased by $1,366,397, the largest dollar increase among Essex County's 22 districts. After getting 23,763,668 in 2011-12, Belleville aid was be bumped up 5.7 percent to 25,130,065 – the fifth largest total given to a district countywide behind Newark (714,315,679), East Orange (176,635,492), Irvington (111,604,784), and Orange (71,995,702). Of the new aid to be allotted, $2,840,089 will go toward special education, $285,421 toward security, and another $202,174 toward transportation. …
