Nutley Resident Nominated to PVSC
Agency oversees Newark treatment plant
Thomas Tucci, a Nutley resident and longtime manager of the Township of Cedar Grove, has been nominated to become one of seven commissioners of the Passaic Valley Sewerage Commission, the office of Gov. Chris Christie announced this week. The commission oversees a wastewater treatment plant in Newark that serves 2 million people in Bergen, Essex, Passaic, Hudson and Union counties. The 111-year-old agency is one of the largest of its kind in the United States. Tucci, who holds an engineering degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology and a master’s in public administration from Rutgers-Newark, is also certified in public works and construction technology.
